Datuk Dr. Thirunavukarasu Rajoo, widely known as Datuk Dr. Arasu, is a distinguished physician leader and an influential voice inprimary healthcare transformation in Malaysia and the region. Beginning September 2025, he assumes office as the President of the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA), continuing his longstanding commitment to strengthening the nation’s healthcare ecosystem. Renowned for his advocacy for general practitioners, he has played a central role in shaping national policies, advancing regulatory improvements, and elevating primary care standards. His leadership within the MMA has been both extensive and impactful. As Honorary General Secretary from 2019 to 2024, he oversaw key national portfolios encompassing managed care regulation, healthcare economics, legislative reviews, and professional advocacy. Through strategic engagement with ministries and national agencies, he contributed significantly to fee schedule reforms, medicine price regulation and sustaining the long-term viability of general practice.
