Gowry Narayanan currently serves as the Director of Nursing at the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH), bringing over 30 years of experience in clinical nursing, nursing management, and leadership. She is recognized for her expertise in enhancing patient care standards, streamlining operational efficiency, and leading nursing teams with a strong emphasis on policy development and regulatory compliance. Gowry began her nursing journey at Nursing College HSAJB, later pursuing specialized training in midwifery and renal nursing at Hospital Kuala Lumpur. She holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Nursing. Throughout her distinguished career, Gowry has played a pivotal role in shaping national and international nursing strategies. Her contributions to strategic nursing planning have been instrumental in setting priorities and guiding decisions that influence the nursing profession in Malaysia and beyond. Most notably, she represented Malaysia at the Global Nursing and Midwifery Meeting and the World Health Assembly in May 2024 in Geneva, Switzerland, underscoring her leadership and commitment to advancing the global nursing agenda.
