Shanti Abraham FCIArb is a lawyer of over 30 years standing called to both the Singapore and Malaysian Bars. Currently practising in Kuala Lumpur, she has an active corporate and dispute resolution legal practice. Shanti is a litigator, arbitrator, adjudicator, mediator and mediation advocate. Shanti is the Immediate Past President of the Medico Legal Society of Malaysia and also the Co Chair of the Bar Council sub committee on the need for a Mental Capacity Act and Vulnerable Adults Act in Malaysia. Shanti is also currently a Member of the inaugural AIAC Court of Arbitration. Shanti is an International Mediator with the Singapore International Mediation Centre and AAA- ICDR, Principal Mediator with the Singapore Mediation Centre and Mediator with the Malaysian International Mediation Centre, and various other panels internationally. She helped to craft and manage the Malaysian COVID-19 Mediation Programme and was part of a Ministerial Appointed Taskforce looking into the Pusat Mediasi Madani for Malaysia. She has been on the Government-led committee looking into the Malaysian Mediation Act and the Roundtable convened by BHEUU relating to the need for a Mental Capacity Act among her other interests.
