Dr. Gayathri K. Kumarasuriar is a Consultant Psychiatrist at Pantai Hospital Melaka with over 28 years of experience. She is a Fellow and Examiner of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (UK), a member of the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia, and is certified by the UK General Hypnotherapy Standards Council. She was the first locally trained psychiatrist in Malaysia to pass the Membership examination of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Dr. Gayathri helped develop Malaysia’s postgraduate psychiatry curriculum and has lectured and examined undergraduate and postgraduate medical students. She currently serves on the Preliminary Investigation Committee and Psychiatry Sub-Education Committee of the Malaysian Medical Council, and the Ethics Committee of the Malaysian Medical Association. Her interests include medical ethics, occupational mental health, trauma, burnout, medico-legal psychiatry, and holistic patient care, integrating evidence-based psychiatry, psychotherapy, mindfulness, and spirituality.
